Magnolia Avenue is home to shops, restaurants… and now a park! A pop-up park to be exact, and the first of its kind for our fair city. Leadership Fort Worth, in partnership with Near Southside Inc., worked tirelessly to ensure that the launch of this micro-park was a success.
From securing donations of all shapes and sizes, to many hours of planning and (sometimes) physical labor, at the center of it all was Enilon’s Claire Brunner. A dedicated member of Leadership Fort Worth, and a natural at dreaming up big ideas and bringing them to fruition, she kept the project moving and made sure lots of fun was had along the way.
“I am still in awe at how this park came together,” she says, “The community support was outstanding and humbling. There is a lot of love for this neighborhood. We were fortunate to be able to be a part of this project and to be able to make an impact on both the Near Southside community as well as other urban neighborhoods who might be inspired and have micro-parks in their future.”
The park was smartly designed as a “kit of parts” so it can be disassembled and reassembled at another location, which means even more of the neighborhood will get to enjoy it at some point- we can’t wait to see where it lands next!
